I am looking for a James Thomas Cartwright married to Elizabeth Matthews in 1897 in Stoddard Co, MO. The marriage info I have found says "William Cartwright", but the family and cemetary have "James" or "J.T". Both are buried in Walker Cem., Bloomfield, MO (died 1917-1919). James may have had a brother David in CA. James and Elizabeth had 6 living children: James, Dealus (Dee), A.W. (Jack), Novella, Stella and Delbert. Do not have birth date or place of birth for James. He was in Stoddard Co. from 1897 until he died in 1918 or 1919. Any information on parents or siblings for James would be appreciated.

This is my bunch. We are still in stoddard county. His name was actually james thaxton Cartwright. He did change his name from time to time. For a reason. Not a good one. ;) goes from my grandfather, earl Stanley Cartwright, my great grandfather james thaxton Cartwright, great great grandfather james thaxton Cartwright. Hard to track when he changed his make around. He also had many kids out of wedlock and they have his last name. So all of us in Mississippi county, stoddard country, cape county, just whole area in mo. Is all same bunch. My uncle is named after them. He is also a james thaxton Cartwright. I can go pretty far back. I have not been able to get into ky site here in a decade. So much of info is not off the top of my head anymore. Some of Cartwrights in California, texas, and kentucky is us too.
