I am an independent researcher-genealogist-translator who provides genealogical assistance in different archives. Presently I live in Tel-Aviv, Israel. In Jerusalem there is Archives of History of Jewish people that I visited last week. I found there a few ELizavetograd files for the period of 1880-1912. There is no index of names so it is impossible to say in advance who mentioned there.
If you are interested in research I'll be delighted to provide an assistance.
I am going to be in archives next week.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,
Irene Kudish

P.S. You may find my name on www.jewishgen.org in BELARUS SIG on the list of researchers-translators. I have been a 13CD Project coordinator.

Barsky is a pretty common name in E-grad. A Barsky married one of my cousins. But I don't know anything about E-graders who went to Chicago. All mine went to NYC.

The Barskys from Egrad must all be related. My grandfather was the youngest of ?9 brothers. They owned something like flour mills.

(My 3x-greatgrandfr) Meyer SIEBELEWSKY and (2nd wife) Bella BORGASLAVSKY of Elizavetgrad had:
• Khana “Anna” SIEBELEWSKY: born 20 May 1883 , Elizavetgrad, Russia; married Nathan BARSKY (Dec. 1884, Elizavetgrad -1939, NY), about 1910 , NY; died Aug. 1974, Queens, NY; buried (poss.) Montifiore , Long Island, NY.

Anna and Nathan BARSKY had:
• Althea BARSKY (born 16 July 1911, NY; married Meyer FRIEDMAN, 2 May 1934, Bronx, NY);
• Flora BARSKY (born 4 Nov. 1913, Bronx, NY; married Meyer COOK; died 1974);
• Leon M. BARSKY (born 1918 (twin), Bronx, NY ; married Elizabeth BOROS, 1946);
• Eugene S. BARSKY (born 1918 (twin), Bronx, NY; married [1st] Ruth; [2nd] Linda)

Do you have any old photos from E-grad? I have alot, but most are unidentified. If we have any matches that would indicate your BARSKYs and mine were close relatives (they were definitely cousins of some sort).
