This thread is intended for posting of current URLS of other
web-sites that have information on the history or information
on the Surname or Clan. These web sites can include
archives, libraries, or just the Clan or Sept web site etc
So Clan Secretaries can keep this thread current or just
a interested member of the surname that has the
web site for their own family.

Please reply to this post and change the subject heading to
the name of the web site that is posting the news. Then keep that
thread current with news etc of your web site ( change of
address etc)

The benefit of having your own thread here is that you can
post the URL in newsletter or emails etc to newsgroup or
mailing lists etc. That way, any interested parties of the
Clan, Sept, or even a unique family group can always come
to your own web site for news and information.

Best Regards

Here are the URLs containing our Mackenzie family. Originating with Donald, Malcolm and Alexander in the Logierait, Dunkeld and Moulin areas of Perthshire Scotland and emigrating to Canada around 1842 and 1847

You may find this interesting: (It's a book on the lives of the Mackenzie brothers, especially Alexander. )

My g-g-g-grandmother, Amelia Ann MacGregor, was sister of Vere MacGregor, who married Hope Fleming Mackenzie, Alexander's brother. They married in 1847 but she died in 1849, in Canada I guess. She lived in Moulin,Perthshire which, as the book explains, is where the brothers went to school. This book explains that Hope was in Edinburgh in this year before he joined his brother in Canada but sadly does not give any details of the marriage. It also gives charming insight into life in the Perthshire area at that time.
