Teri, Do you have any dates for
Edward or William Knackstedt? Are you
sure it was William? My gf's name
was George and he had a brother Edward who was said to have died at an early
age. The name William runs in my family. Any MO. or IL. connections?

Helen,Willaim as far as I know was my Great grandfather. They lived in Chicago, Il. There were two sons Edward (my gradfather) and William is younger brother who died at around age 33. Willaim Sr. also had a brother named George, who had a son named George who died at an early age. My Grandmother who is still alive and living here in Florida, said that ,that was all she remembered about George. Please send me an e-mail address to contact you by so wheen I get all the dates out after we move I can share them with you. thanks Teri

i have more research to do, but i am related to knackstedt's in innman ks. There was a Knackstedt family in Coats, KS. One of the girls married moved to Innman. The only person living that would rember any information is my grandmother Faye Smith. She Was married to Virgil Smith Who was the son of Minnie Knackstedt Smith. i think only 2 other girls in the family married, Dora Bertha. I cannot remeber the parents names . The children were: Charles (Charley), Edward (ED), Theodore (Ted), John, Dorthea (Dora), Matilda (Tilly), Bertha, Emma, Minnie. My grandma Faye has a hard copy of the family tree. If any of this rings a bell please let me know.

Edye, I am currently researching my Knackstedt line. I also have these names in my family line. I am wondering if they may be connected. I have a Dora who married a Fritz Gallinger, Bertha who married a Hans Hatsch, and a Minnie, although I don't have any information on her. Do you think there may be a connection? My family has done extensive research on the Knackstedt name. Please contact me. Bernadette

It is very possible.
Minnie was my great grandma. Dora Bertha were my great aunts. I never really got to know my aunts. Did your family ever live in Coats Kansas? I am just in the begging of my research. but I would really like to know where I came from. If these ladies are the same, they would have several other brothers sisters. Matilda, John, Edward, Ted ( may be Theodore), Charley maybe 1 or 2 more i just can't remember right now I am having trouble with the parents names but, I think thier name were Henry Emma. That could be very wrong though. My family, what is left has very fuzzy memories. Please let me know if this rings any bells for you? Edye Knighten
