Would there be a John Joseph Carroll married to Ann Hooper in your chart? They were married in 1847. All of the names you have listed are family names of mine, just a generation earlier.

I too would like to know the parents of Charles Carroll who married Susannah Lord. I am researching Daniel Carroll whose son Nicholas Carroll married Nancy Lord in 1824 Ross Co., Ohio. After much research, I feel that Charles, Daniel and perhaps Samuel Carroll (married Lovey Lord) are maybe brothers. Will share info and please write back! Thanks, Fonda Carroll

am researching these same lines. My line I am researching is Daniel Carroll b. 1760-1770 Md. and his son Nicholas Carroll b. 1797 MD married Nancy Lord in 1822 Ross County, OH. Handed down history is they are related to the famous signer Carroll's. I believe Charles Carroll who married Susannah Lord and Daniel Carroll are probably brothers. Perhaps Samuel Carroll who married Lovey Lord 1801 MD is kin also. Will share info.

Carol! I have been to the cemetery near Hurlock where the James Carroll family is buried. It is located on the old Carroll/Andrews Farm on the Bobtown Road just past the Glen Oak Hotel Road on the right and the Blink Horn Road on the left which borders some houses. It is across the Bobtown Road from the entrance to the houses. If you get on google search the cemetery will show up as a dot out in the field. When you enlarge it you can see more detail. It is about 100 yards out in the field and visible when the crops are down. If you go when there are crops you won't be able to see the cemetery unless you walk out among the crops. I am trying to find where Charles Carroll and Suzannah Lord Carroll are buried. They are not buried with their son James Carroll due to a dispute over James and his spouse Margaret Medford becoming a Methodist. They favored the Church of England. Good luck and e mail me if you find information

From our family historian there were 4 protestant Carroll brothers who came to the Eastern Shore of Maryland around the time of the Revolution. Their names were Patrick, Keel, Charles and the fourth is unknown. Patrick moved to the Maryland frontier in 1791 and never heard from after. Keel became trustee of the Union Chapel and Episcopalian Church in East New Market, Maryland. Charles was a protestant land owner and married Suzannah Lord and their son is James Carroll. The 4th brother could have been Daniel. Check out what I sent to Carol Puzey. I am looking for the place of burial for Charles and Suzannah Lord Carroll.

Since your Carroll's were Protestant before they moved to America, I would assume Northern Ireland was their origens. If interested, you could delve deeper through Y-DNA testing. My kit number is 31491. There are five known Carroll septs. The one in Northern Ireland is Carroll of Oriel. They are part of the Clan Colla.
