Cumberland Evening Times abstract - 26 Jan. 1907

Emily Twigg deceased several years ago, heirs are:

Jennie Saylor & William
Sarah J. Corwell & Nathaniel
Annie Stalings & Nathan
David, Robert & Louis M. Twigg
Mary Kuhn (decd) & Henry
Ruth Crabtree (decd) & Henry
All residents of Maryland except David Twigg.

Since there are a lot of knowledgable Twigg researchers out there I was hoping someone might have some details about the Saylor connection. I believe they were residing in Elerslie during this time period but was wondering if anyone knows where they came from?

Taken from Allegany Co. Court House records on July 1, 1999.

Marriage records 1 Dec. 1873 to 31 July 1885:

Daniel SAYLOR, no age given, in Oldtown, farmer, to Jennie BUSSARD of Washington Co., no age given, 2 Feb. 1881.

William H. SAYLOR, Oldtown, 21, farmer, to Jennie F. TWIGG, 24, Pattersons Creek, widow, 25 July 1886, at Robt. F. Twigg's residence by Chas. Simmons.

These both appear to be sons of Edward Saylor.

This is a longshot but would your Emily Twigg be any relation to a Mary Ellen Twigg who married a George Golden.
They had a daughter Mary Catherine Golden. She was my grandmother. If they are connected that would be great if not sorry for bothering you.

Don't know if this helps but Jennie was Emily Virginia Twigg. "Jennie" was 1st married to Washington Andrews 19 Aug 1875 in Allegany County, MD. Washington died before 1880. They had 2 children Emily Margaret Andrews & Naomi Bell Andrews.

She married 2nd abt 1888 William H. Saylor b: Oct 1862 MD. They had 4 children: Willow L., Charles L. (Both born in WV), Ruth F., & Filmore Saylor.

I'm not positive but William Saylor may have come from the Antietam/Hagerstown area in Washington County, Maryland. He may be the William Saylor in 1870 & 1880 census records in Washington County with Daniel W. & Barbara Saylor.
