Amie:
You will have to provide me with some more information in order to try to help. You mentioned his wife, but did not provide her name. In the French Canadian genealogy, the first names were oftern passed on to their children; so in order to identidy the correct Victor for example, the name of his wife becomes crucial in order to distinguish him from other possible Victor Loiselles. Besides, if you have any idea of his place of birth, year,, that would help. If you live in the New England states, you could find an office of the American Genealogical Society, they are likely to have the Loiselle Marriage Index. If I get to the National archives here in Ottawa, where there is a copy of this Index, I need an idea of where Victor was likely to have been married, city and/church, besides who he married to. This is basic because when I look in the Index and I start finding Victors, it will tell me what Victor I should look into. If and when I can identify his marriage record, we are lucky because likely it will help me find his marriage registration which in turn will tell me who he was son of . Good luck and let me know.

I was curious to see your web site, but it is unavailable. If you give me more info on Victor's ancestry a far back as you can, I am sure I can tell if we come from the same family branch. Many thanks.

Diane: I quickly viewed your nice web site. Very well done. I want to take more time to follow your family branch with the data base I have and see if I can add and enhance it. I have reduced myself to collect my family branch which comes from the Richelieu area near Montreal (Saint Marc); many siblings from my gggrandfather left to go to the USA and several from his mother's side too (the Tetraults) and became pioneer families in some regions in America (the West). Some also went to the New England states. So, I will be in contact with you again later. Many thanks for inviting me into your site. Regards
Aurora

I hope by now you have been able to access the picture of the Loiselle family from 1918 in Amesbury, MA-if not--please try:
http://www.geocities.com/deeceeoh/paterpage.html

Victor Loiselle was the youngest son of 12 children of Joseph Loiselle b.1875 d. 1957 and Leonide Roy b.1882-d.1920. My grandfather was the eldest son of the same 12. Victor died on 1 June 2000 at the age of 86. Parents of Joseph Loiselle were Joseph Loiselle b. 1848 and Malvina Larocque b.1851-d.1889-someone in Canada did a lookup for me once and found a Joseph Loiselle married to a Malvina Larocque with a son Joseph b. 1875 but I have no hard copy or real documentation to indicate that it is MY Joseph. I would like to find where in Canada we are from-my father says he remembers a maiden aunt saying St. Hyacinthe, but the Joseph-Malvina marriage (1872?) is in St. Ephrem de Bagot-(sorry if spelled incorrectly) and I don't know if they are close enough to have been my Joseph and Malvina-to make it more interesting, it seems that Malvina had a brother Joseph-(not unusual with the strong Catholic connection)who married a Malvina Loiselle--sigh. I am really getting confused. HELP if you can please-
p.s. with naming patterns what they were i must add that 2 of Victor's sisters were named Ora and Cora and 2 brothers had the name Napoleon either first or second, and first child who died as infant was named Azilda, Exhilda or Ozilda-Joseph b. 1848 had a sister 1 year older named Azilda...very coincidental i must say-diane loiselle cooper

My name is Alicia (Fullford) Seay,
My Maternal grandmother is Cora Josephine Loiselle! She passed away in August of 1992. There never seemed to be much contact with the family as a whole, and therefore, there is much of the history that I am not fully aware of. We were always in close contact with Doris though up until her passing. Would love to get any information that is out there on the family!
