In reply to your search on family of Richard Davenport, my great, great, great grandfather was a Richard Davenport. I don't have date particulars about him other than he was married to Margaret Forbes. My detail information stops with his son, John Forbes Davenport, born 26 April, 1838 and died 9 July, 1864 in Petersburg, VA. I have descendant information from there on down to myself, if you are interested.

Any information you might could pass on that might be helpful to me, I would appreciate.

I have a copy of the will of Richard Davenport, of Charlotte County, which refers to his daughter Catherine F. North, wife of
Putnam North. Putnam North is also named an executor of the will. I also have a history of Richard's military service, as described in
the Virginia Revolutionary Pension Applications, v. 25. Plus my father has
recently worked out connections to three generations further back. If you're still looking for info on Richard, drop me an email...

I tried to contact you directly but the message would not go through.

I have seen the Richard Davenport will as well as the pension application. Since posting my original query, I found a web site that took Richard's ancestery back to John (m. Mary Smith), then Martin (m. Dorothy Glover), and finally to Davis Davenport.

I don't know if your interest is in Richard or another Davenport branch, but if it is Richard, I have posted some information on the Charlotte Co. Homepage about the family cemetery.

Incidentally, we have another new E-Mail address. I am keeping the old one for a transition period of a few months and will soon cut it loose. The new address is .

Get back in touch if you have any interest in seeing the old cemetery.

I have a Davenport line that goes into Davis Davenport. I have been looking forStephen Davenport who was born about 1800 and died before 1870. He was a wagon driver who drove wagons to the west and is believed to have been with the train that later became known as the donnor party or maybe broke off and went on the more known trail on california. Anyway, I would like to know what you have on Davis Davenport and that line. Thank you mary lynn
