Would like to hear from anyone with an AMOS in their line, or related line. I am descended from early settler, James and Dicey Amos, of Hart Co.

I am descended from the AMOS Family of Hart County, Kentucky.
Looking for information on Margaret Amos b. 10 Jan 1844 and
died 24 Jul 1923 in Hart County. She married James BINGHAM and
is probably the daughter of Birt AMOS and Elizabeth HESTER.
Any info is appreciated.

I'm back. Earlier this year we exchanged information
on William Gill and Nancy Amos and their likely descendants.
Well, I received, mostly. I now have another likely Hart County Amos line. John J. Gill's wife was born Nancy Orchard, in the second half of 1813 or the first half of 1814 (from the 1850 and 1860 censuses). I have her name both from Gorin, Hart County births, and the death certificate of their daughter Mary Elizabeth Gill, which you can find abstracted on the Todd County Genweb site under the name Mary E Leach, as she married Simeon B. Leech, and they couldn't spell our last name right in Todd County until after World War II.

Now there is only one Orchard household in the 1830 census of 1830, that of James Orchard. And a James Orchard and a William Orchard live on the Green River in the 1819 tax list of Hart County. The Orchards were members of Green River Baptist Church. So they're in the same part of Hart County as the Amoses.

I've sent for the Green River Baptist Church records from Gorin, and hope to have them in about a week.

In the meantime, do you have any idea who this Polly (or Mary) Amos might be?

I am seeking more information on Paul Valentine AMOS. Specifically, did he marry a second time after Martha BUMGARDNER? If you have any information, I would really appreciate it.
