I am looking for any information about the parents of both William Stepp and Elizabeth Turley. William Stepp was born abt. 1805 in North Carolina (I suspect in Buncombe County or Hendersonville), and Elizabeth Turley was born abt. 1814 in South Carolina. William Stepp may have been a junior. They lived next to each other in McMinn County, Tennessee (shown in the 1830 census), as it shows that a William Stepp lived next to a Charles Turley (Elizabeth's father??). David Stepp also lived next to them, and he was probably of relation. They later moved to Clark County, Indiana. William died abt. 1872, and Elizabeth Turley died in 1878. If you have any information, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thank you.

Hi Alex,

Looks like you did this post years ago. Hope you found some information. There may be some books on the Stepps at a large genealogy library such as in Fort Wayne Indiana. As best I can tell by finding tibits online, the Stepps came from England to Culpepper Virginia and then to Baucombe South Carolina. They then moved to McMinn Tennesse to Kentucky and then Clark County Indiana. Discovery of my Stepp line is new for me. Hope this info isn't redundant for you.

Hi, these are my husbands 3rd great grandparents. I live in Clark County where they are buried. Their daughter Minerva married William H. Wright, my husbands 2nd great grandparents. I have a lot of information on William and Elizabeth’s children if you are interested. I don’t know who Elizabeth Turleys parents were but I do know William’s. I have a big book on Stepps/Stapps if you want me to look anything up.
