I just wanted to put an update on here of what I have, and if anyone has additional info on the family - PLEASE contact me. These are not my ancestors, but my sons ancestors through his mother.

Jesse Lee Hoffman was born April 5, 1882 in Texas and died in about 1941. He married, about 1899 in Chickasaw Territory, to Fay "Fannie" Talley. Fay was born August 1882 in Tishomingo County, Indian Territory (now part of Oklahoma). Her parents were William W. Talley (born June 15, 1852 in Charleston, South Carolina and died Dec 9, 1913 in Wynnewood, Oklahoma) and Agnes Suda Chigley (born Feb 15, 1861 in Tishomingo County, Indian Territory and died Feb 16, 1888 in Davis, Murray, Indian Territory). William and Agnes had three other children: William Nelson and Thomas Perry, twins born January 1885 and Suda Bell Talley, born December 1887. Agnes' parents were senator Nelson Chigley (1835-1922) and Julia Thomas (1836-1909). Nelson's parents were (their indian names) Chigley and Eupulkee and Julia's parents were Patshekah and Kitty. Julia also had a sister named Nancy and at least one brother.

At the moment I'm looking for information on the Hoffman family, and specifically the names of Jesse Lee Hoffman's parents. I believe he may have had brothers named James Thomas Hoffman (born Aug 25, 1877 in Alvarado, Johnson, Texas) and Daniel L. Hoffman, born about 1880. But I haven't been able to confirm either of these yet. Anyone know more?

Read your message looking for Jessie L. Hoffman's parents. My husband is the Grandson of James Thomas Hoffman who was born in in Alvarado Texas in 1877. I believe that Jessie was Jame's brother. I do have a list of his other siblings but only have the name of his father. Larkin Hoffman, cannot seem to find out anything about him whom he was married to etc. His other siblings were Arthur Hoffman who died in Wisconcin. Della (Hoffman) Hargrove. Alice Hoffman married to Wyatt Logan. Lommie Hoffman married to Marvin Heard. Dovie Hoffman married to R.L.Pyle. John Hoffman and Jessie Hoffman. My brother in law passed on most of this and i do know he remembers some of his Grandfathers siblings.

Hope this helps. I would appreciate it if you fins out any more of James and Jessies parents that you would pass it on.

Hi Judy! Thanks for writing.

I have since also come to the conclusion that James Thomas and Jessie Lee were brothers and that Larkin was their father, but also do not have much more information beyond that. This is what I have so far.

Larkin Hoffman was born between 1830 and 1860, possibly in Texas as suggested by his children's census records. There are a couple of clues to who he was. There is a Larkin Hoffman listed on a land record in Houston County, Texas dated Aug 27, 1898. There was also a Larkin Hoffman living in Coyle, Murray County, Oklahoma in 1910. This is not far from where Jessie Lee Hoffman lived at that time. This Larkin was listed as 71 years old, born in Tennessee. His wife was Sallie, the mother of 13 children, 9 still living in 1910. With them were two daughters - Salomie and Dorie ages 16 and 14, both born in Texas. Sallie was also born in Tennessee, but her parents were from North Carolina. It seems very likely that this is our Larkin.

I will add your info to the tree and hopefully it will lead to some more info. If I find anything I will be sure to let you know :)
