Greetings and salutations,

I am looking for some information on Thomas E. McArtor, Born 1916 in Loudoun County, VA. He enlisted as a Private with the U.S. Army on 5/6/1941 in Richmond, VA with a one year enlistment. Sadly this is about the extent of the information I was able to find. I am hoping to find information pertaining to where he served ,who his parents were, date of death (if applicable), place of burial (if applicable),etc. I am also looking for information regarding a brave Confederate Soldier killed in action during Pickett's Charge (July 3rd, 1863) at a little place we know as Gettysburg, PA. He was a soldier with Company B. 8th Virginia Infantry. I am looking for some little known details about his life or any relics associated with the 8th Virginia. For those of you who do not know me (which I am sure that is most of you) I am a 24 year old McArtor from Maryland who is in the U.S. Army Inactive Ready Reserve. While I am sitting here awaiting active duty I have been writing a book dedicated to the theory of the Army of Northern Virginia moving to Gettysburg on purpose based off of a plan proposed by Stonewall Jackson as early as August of 1861 for the purpose of shutting down the anthracite coal mines of PA. I am a historian with the Sons of Confederate Veterans who are helping wherever they can but I am hoping that some family members will come out of the woodwork with anything that I could use to tell this story. Thanks in advance
