Hello-I am yet another descendant of Michael O'Hair. I am a member of the DAR, courtesy of our ancestor. My husband and I recently visited the Saratoga battlefield this summer. It is truly an interesting and beautiful place. He must have been quite a tough and hardy man to have survived all of that!
I am descended from his son John, by Elizabeth Tribbett.
I am not listed in the book by Mrs. Brann, as my grandmother, Dora Faris (not Paris) Brown, did not send in my mother's, aunt's, sister's and my name in time prior to the publication. I well remember as a child being very disappointed at that!
I am a member of the Fielding Lewis DAR Chapter in Marietta, Ga. I have recently become very interested in geneaology. If any of you can let me know where Hazel Green, Ky., is located, please let me know. I would love to go there, and visit the memorial to Michael O'Hair.

It's not too late to get in Virginia Brann's book.

I have posted the entire book to my website.

Send me your information and I will add it to the book in the same style as Virginia used. Include pictures and I will scan them and include them.

New postings will be shown on a light blue background so that readers will know that this is information not in the original book. I am trying to stay true to the original book, yet allow for updates, corrections, and additions.

Mail me information that can't be e-mailed.

Go to Virginia's book on my website at and read some of the lines portrayed there. Take note of the style Virginia used.

Send me an e-mail (to with your family portrayed in the same style. Make a notation of your authority in making your statement of fact about your family and the individuals included in it. I will include your statement as a footnote to document your portrayal of your family members.

Don't forget to show enough overlap of currently listed people so that I will know how to insert your folks. Heck, tell me where (Brann Page #, person to place your clan under.

Include your people down to the latest newborn.

Send me the information as soon as you can. I think I am catching a cold. Could turn into pneumonia, etc. You wouldn't want to miss another chance.

Some people say I have a wierd sense of humor. I think they are overly critical.

Hello, John:
I would like to send you my info on descendants of Sally O'Hair and James Miller through their daughter Martha and husband Isaac Elledge, etc. I don't think I ever sent this to you -- if we've been in touch, it was before much was on the Internet. But could you let me know for sure? Would you like a gedcom on disk? Or another format?

I am descendent of Michael and his son James EM O'Hair. As a child, I attended the dedication of Michael's marker in Hazel Green. My mother took several pictures which I still have. The 135th annaul James EM O'Hair reunion will be held in Greencastle, IN on the last sunday in August. I have attended many of these reunions as a child. My mother and Virginia Braun who wrote the Blue book were good friends.

I currently live near Nashville, TN

Last year I was fortunate to be able to attend both the Indiana and the Kentucky O'Hair reunions. I can't decide which group is the friendlier or the better cooks. I will do more research on that this year. The Kentucky O'Hair reunion is held the 1st Saturday in August in Clay City, KY, usually at the AMVETS building which is clean and air conditioned. From Clay City, a short ride south on Mountain Parkway to Campton, then left on 191, will take you to Trent and the O'Hair-Trent Cemetery. Back on 191 and a right turn at Hazel Green will take you to the Hazel Green Cemetery and Michael O'Hair's resting place. I would be interested in information about other O'Hair reunions. Illinois? Texas? California?
