Hi Anne,

I am researching all descendants of Jonas Guerin's son John Guerin and wife Mary Ann Wilson. He is William's slightly older brother and my gggrandfather. Any information on John and Mary Ann would be truly appreciated. She is a tough nut to crack.

William D. Guerin

William D. Guerin, lifelong resident of the town of Little Wolf and village of Manawa, died at the Iola hospital, Saturday, March 12, following an operation. He was 65 years, 5 months and 27 days old at the time of his death.
Mr. Guerin was born in the town of Little Wolf, Sept. 19, 1866. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Guerin, Sr., who were among the earliest settlers of this locality, and he grew to manhood in a mixed environment of timber land, small cleared plots of ground changing into tiny farms, and alternate seasons of work at agriculture and logging.
His marriage to Miss Mary Seigworth occurred at Waupaca on Sept. 19, 1884. They lived on a farm in Little Wolf for several years and then moved to Manawa where the family has made its home ever since. Mr. Guerin continued to make his annual trips into northern Wisconsin woods and on the river for different logging companies until only a few years ago.
He is survived besides his widow by six children, Miss Elizabeth Guerin of Manawa, Ruby (Mrs. Geo. E. Storms) of Marion, Phillip Guerin of Iola, Oviatt G. Guerin of Mellen, Viola (Mrs. Harry Stevens) of Manawa, and Robert Guerin of Manawa, one sister, Miss Rhoda Guerin, of Manawa, three brothers, Charles and Joe of Manawa, Barney of Merrill, and eleven grandchildren. Two children preceded him in death. Hannah (Mrs. A.G. Nelson) passed away at Iola on June 26, 1926, and a son, Lee, died at home on September 28, 1925.
The funeral was held at the home in Manawa, Wednesday afternoon, March 16. Rev. John S. Ellis, pastor of the M.E. church here, and Rev. Odegaard, pastor of Norwegian Lutheran church at Iola, officiated. Pall bearers were Wm. Hobbs of New London, L. Quimby, L. Scruton, L.W. Eastling, Wm. Schwan, and Ed Roman. Interment was in the Manawa cemetery.

Mrs. John Guerin nee Mary Ann Wilson
Died February 15, 1906 at the home of her son, William, at the age of 79 years, five months and 27 days. Mary Ann Wilson was born August 19, 1826. She was married to John Guerin on October 10, 1846. Six children were born to them of which only two are living. They are Barney d. of Wittenberg and William J. of Little Wolf. She left besides her sons, 25 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren. She with her husband and children moved to Wisconsin forty-two years ago from Vanettenville, Shemung county, New York, and settled near Manawa and from there to Little Wolf on the farm where her son William now lives. Buried Manawa cemetery.

PETER GUERIN of Manawa died July 31, 1902 he was carrying a pail of milk over the railroad
track in Manawa, a freight train had struck and killed him instantly, he was deaf and dumb. It will be remembered that about a year ago Bill Guerin was also kilIed by a train in Manawa. Petie was killed not more than 30 rods from where Mr. Guerin was killed. Peter was 23 years

who ever you are THANK YOU! There is so much new information here for me to absorb.

I am still on the trail of who Mary Ann's parents were but the lead that they moved from Chemung, rather than Seneca County NY is revealing.

Again, thank you!
