How is your Koontz spelled? My grandfather was Clarence Koontz, also born around Greenville, Il or Bond County. His parents were George and Mary Etta Coleman Koontz and George's parents were George and Margaret Jane Kelly Koonce. Notice the change in spelling. My grandfather had brothers Charles, Leonard and Fred and sisters Jessie and Lillie. Do any of these sound familiar?

My Grandfather, George Eugene Koonce, had 5 siblings. Don't think it is a connection at that level. He was raised by his aunt, don't know their names yet, can ask my Dad. George ran off to marry my grandmother, Agnes Copeland, when they were 19 and 14 yrs old respectively. THis was in late 1910's i think. Agnes died in c.1972. George is still alive(95 yrs old) and lives in Fla.

I can connect brothers of Jasper N. Koonce of McLeansboro, IL as I am a descendant of his brother Elijah Willis Koonce.

Hi, your post caught my eye. I was wondering if Linda Koonce is your mother or what relation to you. Also you mentioned they moved to the Willamette Valley, so I am wondering if Linda Koonce that you mention ever lived in or around Salem Oregon. If so please contact me. we need to talk.
