Recently received my grandmother's (Esther Buynar) birth certificate which states that her mother's (Louise) maiden name (or it could have been her previously married name) is Soreier ? This is a brick wall for me and my research. On Louise's death cert. it states that she was born Sept 3, 1892 Excelsior, Canada. That I located to Alberta. I can find NO iformation for this surname Soreier. Can anyone shed some light for me?

Louisa Seroire in 1901 census.

You'll need to use alternate spellings, i.e., Serere, Serois, Serroys

I will check out this lead. Thank you...

Here is some other information I know about Louise...

She may have had a brother who was a Mounty, my grandmother remembered seeing a picture of a man on a horse.

My grandmother believed that her mother's maiden name was Cabera or something of the like.

My grandmother's father told my mother that "he met her and found her right on a reservationNorth of North Dakota and that she was 100 percent blackfoot Indian."

They had 4 children together, Esther born in Indianna, Joseph, Alfred and Estelle all born in Miami Florida.

She died 1938 in Miami Florida at the age of 45 of Cancer
