My Grandfather Walter Newton RASCO(E) b. May 17, 1877 left
Caswell Co. (Reidesville) in the late 1800s with an uncle
Sanders RASCO(E) and came to NW MO. His parents were
William RASCO(E) and Nancy WALKER. I think Wm.s parents were John RASCO(E) and Martha "Patsy" Pleasant. I think
John's parents were Arthur RASCO(E) and Mary "POLLY"
Weeden. I would really appreciate any info I can get.

I have extensive Rasco's and my line goes through Sanders Rasco. I'm working on connecting to your info, but would love to hear from you. I'm sure we each have a lot to share.
Sincerely, Nita Rhoads

I don't have much more info than I had in my query. It was exciting to have a query from Caswell Co. N. C., go all the way to Ak., back to N. C. and then to Mo. where I live.
If you would like you can e-mail me direct . Maybe we can help each other a little.

Rascoe Family

Dear Folks:

You have me a bit confused, which some say is not unusual.

However, following your posts generates the following ancestral outline:

Arthur Rascoe m. Mary Weeden
John Rascoe m. Martha Pleasant
William Rascoe m. Nancy Walker
Walter Newton Rascoe

This is not my understanding of the Rascoe family, which had its roots (or at least part of them) in Caswell County.

I always thought that the John Rascoe who married Martha (Patsy) Pleasant was the brother of Arthur Rascoe (who married Mary Ann Weeden) and not his son.

Also, is the William Rasco who married Nancy Walker, the same William Smith Rascoe who was born in Alamance County, North Carolina, and had at least two children (Louis Lee Rascoe and Alice Rascoe).

There is, of course, another Nancy Walker who married into the Rascoe family, and she did so twice. This is the Nancy Walker (daughter of James and Mary Walker) who married two of the sons of Arthur Rascoe and Mary Ann Weeden Rascoe: (1) Ethelbert Smith Rascoe; and (2) William Martin Rascoe.

All that you can do to put me on the correct path would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks and best regards,

Rick Frederick

My records have Walter Newton Rascoe as a son of William Martin Rascoe and his third wife, Nancy Walker.

William Martin Rascoe was a son of Arthur Rascoe and Mary "Polly"Weeden.

Arthur Rascoe was a son of John Rascoe, Sr. and Mary Swindell.

John Rascoe, sr. was a son of William Rasco and Rachel Adams.

William Rascoe was a son of Daniel Rascoe.

The John Rascoe, jr. who married Martha "Polly" Weeden was a son of John Rascoe and Mary Swendell.

John Rascoe, jr. was born in Hyde County N.C. in 1796 and died in White County Tennessee April 28, 1865. He married Martha "Patsy" Pleasant in Caswell County N.C. December 5, 1816. John and Patsy moved their family from Caswell County N.C. to White County, Tn. in 1823. They had eight children. Their second child was named William who was born August 24 1819 but he diedJuly 32 1844 in White County Tn. without ever marring or having children.

John Rascoe who married Martha "Pasty" Pleasant was a brother of Arthur Rascoe who married Mary "Polly" Weeden.

Correction to my post:

John Rascoe,jr. married Martha "Patsy" Pleasant and not Mary "Polly" Weeden as I mistakenly typed. It was John's brother, Arthur Rascoe who married Mary "Polly" Weeden.
