I am looking for the ancestors of my great grandfather, Peter Allen Gaskins, born between 1882-1895. I believe he died in 1942. He was buried at the Rose valley cemetary in Ambler, PA until 1994 when my great aunt Gertrude had the body exhumed and buried it unmarked on the side of a country road in Westmoreland or Northumberland County.(It's a long, crazy story.) He was first married to a woman named Mary. After she died he married Sarah. Please help me if you know anything about his ancestry or dencenants. Thanks.

I'd love to exchange info. My family is concentrated in VA, PA, MD and DC. My maternal grandfather was Alfred N. Gaskins, Sr. and was born in 1912 in VA. His mom and dad were Peter and Mary Gaskins. Mary died and Peter married Sara and 4 or 5 more children. I can't think of the town that they used to live in but I think it starts with a "C". Alfred married Pauline Braxton and they had two kids, my mom and my uncle. Some of Alfreds siblings are Margaret, Helen, Louise, Mildred, Charles and Gertrude. I can't remember the others. Please tell me about your family.

My Gaston/Gaskin/Gascoigne line is my ancestor Frances Gaston Married to Samuel Selathiel Mason in Gaston Co., North Carolina. She was the daughter of John Gaston...who was married to a woman who's last name was Littlejohn. John Gaston was the son of Francis Gascoigne. Time frame for these people would be 1720-1790...In north Carolina. Frances and Samuel moved to Conway Co., Arkansas...and their descendants Lived in that area for two generations . Some still live there. Any comparable information?

Hi Tamara,
I just picked up your Aug 20, 2001 query on the Gaskins family. My Gaskins family also is located in PA, VA, DC. My maternal grandmother was Elizabeth Gaskins Washington. Her father was Frank Gaskins and her mother was Roxanna Jackson Gaskins. My father, George Washington, was raised by his mother's sisters in VA and DC. in the early 1900's. I think we may have apossible connection. The names you mention are prevalent in my Gaskins family, especially Louise and Helen. I live in Pittsburgh, PA. Do you know your great great grandparents names? Looking forward to hearing from you.

My ancestors were Thomas Gascoigne, who came to VA in 1619 on the Bona Nova, and his first wife who was probably Elizabeth Gamlyn (Gambling).

I descend through their daughter Alice and John Taylor, then throught the Bayses and Oldhams.

Do you have anything on the parents of Thomas Gascoigne an Elizabeth Gamlyn?

Will be happy to share info.

My Gastons don't go back so far. My earliest one is Francis Gaston. I am still trying to sort out his children...John is my line of descent. John was married to a woman who's last name was Littlejohn. Do you have any records indicating a Gaston/Littlejohn connection? Do you have a list of the children of Thomas, or his descendants? Perhaps my Francis would be a Grandson. My email address is susanmueller@uniserve.com

He returned to England, came back to America with his family Sept. 9,1636. He died Nov 20, 1665, Northumberland, County, Virginia. His father was Henry Gascoigne, born abt. 1566 in England. His Mother was Anna Hobbs, born abt. 1569 in England.
Hope this is of some help to you. We seem to share the same ancestors.
