I have traced my family direct lineage back to Thomas Jefferson Freeman (born July 20, 1821/died September 16, 1891) His children: Mary Jane Freeman(1848-1859),
Martha Annjakine Freeman(1851-
Theopolius Freeman (1853-1854),
Thomas Barlow Freeman(1855-1933),
Sarah Little Freeman(1857-
Henry Lee Freeman(my great
grandfather 1864-1922),
Finis Franklin Freeman(1865-1869),
Bollentine Freeman(1867-1869),
and Holden Grant Freeman(1869-
Do any of the dozens of names you have link to Thomas Jefferson Freeman. We think his father may be Hamblin Freeman, but can not find any record to confirm. His mother may possibly be Mary Freeman.

Thank you,

Jim Jones

Hi, I too am looking into the Freeman's in Missouri. I have written to someone recently about the subject. My ex husband is a Freeman....his grandfather was Emil, his father was William, and from what I understand the are from Mountain Grove Missouri. If the information I receive seems like it will help you too, I will share it when I get it.

My ex husband is a freeman....He is William Douglas Freeman (1964)...his dad is Gary Freeman (son of Emil and Mary Freeman). Emil's dad is William David Freeman. I understand that William David hit a cousin Larry's dad in the head with a rock and killed him. I believe Mountain Grove Mo. is where these guys are from. I would be interested in your list. Thanks

Mahulda Freeman, disowned by family?

I'm trying to find any information on my great, great grandmother. This is what I have. She was born 9 Jun 1815, TN, Co. unknown, married in the mid 1830's to Sanford Gorham, b. 1812 in KY. Mahulda and Sanford ended up in LA by 1856. Family story has it that Mahulda was living by the Mississippi River in Peducah, KY. She met and married a River Boat Captain (Sanford) and became disconnected from her family. I assume this means disowned. I was told her family was well off. Sanford and Mahulda were in the 1850 Robertson Co., TN census with 8 or 9 children, Rapides Parish, LA in 1860 and Winn Parish, LA in 1870. She died 9 Sep 1897 in Winn Parish and is buried in the Gorham Cemetery there. Rumor has it that she was Native American and we assume it was Cherokee. Since I know nothing about her family, they could have ended up in MO. If you or anyone else has any information that might help find her family, I would really appreciate it. Thank you.
