I noticed you are researching Waggoners in Surry Co. NC. I have a Henry Waggoner in Wilkes Co. NC nearby and wonder if there is any connection or if you know where the Waggoners came from? Thanks in advance.

I have an Adam Waggoner who sold land to William Griffith on Dec. 5, 1807 in Stokes Cty., NC. The tract is for 90 on Double Creek for $200.

The same date 12/5/1807 William Griffith sold Adam Waggoner 109 acres on Mill & Double Creeks for $200.

Seems almost like a trade doesn't it?

There is a family "tradition" that William Griffith married (ca. 1780?) Susannah Waggoner, sister of Adam Waggoner but there is no "proof."

I have Phillp Waggoner as the father of Adam Waggoner (married Nancy Sharp) and Catron Waggoner (who married Barnabas Fare).

Sorry for the delay in responding. I've been off chasing the BOWMANs at the library lately.

None of the names you mention are familiar to me. I have not yet concentrated on this family, choosing to look in Davidson County, instead. When I do turn my efforts to this surname, I'll be getting back with you. Don't despair. It may be awhile later in 2001 before I get to this one of the 300 surnames I'm trying to trace.

Happy Hunting!

Hopefully we can connect? I also am perplexed because
of inability to find direct provable linkage behind my
Jonathan GRIFFITH(born 10 Nov 1782 died 3 Oct 1848).Family tradition says that he was born in Stokes Cty NC(or came from there--which may not mean actually born there)Jonathan m. Elisabeth (aka Betsey)WILLIAMS also from that area(I can document her family)They migrated together, soon after their marriage? to Smith Co TN.Other WILLIAMS,and Some BRASWELL family-plus others, came to TN with them at the same time, or shortly thereafter.
Jonathan & Betsey GRIFFITH had first child born(daughter, named Edith(aka Edah or Eday)in transit to TN.They had 9 more after they settled in Smith Co(later Dekalb Co,TN)They were:Moses,David,John,Elias,Elisabeth,Peyton,Amos,Nancy, and William.I descend from son,Moses GRIFFITH who married Joanna JENKINS and tradition says that their families knew each other before their move to TN.
Tradition also says that Edith, the first child, was named after Jonathan's mother--?Tradition also says Jonathan's father was also named Jonathan?--Say that line often used Biblical names for their offspring.--also says that there were(how many times ya heard this?-ha!)3 or 4 GRIFFITH brothers who all settled in different areas after they first came to America(Delaware), with one staying in NC,after they began moving South 'cause Delaware was too Cold. Now by tradition--I mean stories as related by ole timer kin>sometime not reliable, but there may be some grain of truth there.
Jonathan and Elisabeth I can document,as well as their children. Other documentation(in Smith Co TN): 1. A(nother) Moses GRIFFIN not GRIFFITH mentioned in a Smith Co TN court record 1804 2. I show a Daniel GRIFFITH in 1830 Smith Co Census, 1 M under 5,1 M 60-70 yrs & 1 F 5-10,1F 30-40 yrs.--3. Also 1820 Census Smith Co TN census my Jonathan is listed, but also a John GRIFF(IN) 4 M under 10 yrs & 1 M 45 yrs and up,no F--and a Matthew GRIFF(IN)with 4 M uner 10 yrs 1 M 45 yrs and up,no F
Other documentation that might help you out?:From 1800 NC federal Census Stokes Co NC,written pg 575 line 4 pg 488 Azariah GRIFFY(I do not have record of family size) and written page 606-607 line 11 pg 515
William GRIGGITH(it is spelled that way) and a George GRIFFITH -----incidentally, there are a bunch of WILLIAMS in there, same first name as Elisabeth(Betsey) WILLIAMS GRIFFITH's father.(which was William WILLIAMS)--------Also, many other researchers for the Smith-Dekalb County TN area in which my Jonathan settled, were composed of a group that originally came from Stokes Co NC
---------Another reference for you, from Green Manuscript in the TN State Archives,in Thomas J Barnes Papers.I quote, not exactly but in summarized form:"2 brothers William and George GRIFFITH came from Wales and settled in VA. William had a son William who m. Susanna Jones.William and Sussanna had a son Amos b VA 1783 who came to TN in 1806...."
Enough to confuse the issue--but with your records, and my records, we may find something. Please get back with me.
directly my email is feel positive about your query.------Judy

I am searching for information about Nonnie E. Heath, daughter of Squire J.Heath and Christina Fulk. I believe she was married and had 3 children in North Carolina. I am trying to find these childrens names as well as her married name. Later Nonnie married Alvin Moscoe and moved to KY where she had three additional children. She died in 1967. Any information you may have would be appreciated. Thanks.

The only information I have on Nonnie is that she married Porter Dinkins. She was born 1-1-1925 and they had a daughter named Linda and she married a Blackburn.

I would be interested in anymore information you have on her.

I have plenty more on Nonnie's brothers and sisters.

I am searching for information about the family of Squire J. Heath and Christina Fulk. They had a daughter named Marie (Nonnie) E. Heath born about 1925. She apparently was married twice. Her second marriage was to Alvin D. Moscoe and they lived in Carroll County, KY where they had three children, Joyce, Sandra and Dennis. She died in 1967. I understand she had 2 children by a previous marriage. I am trying to find those children or any of her siblings who may have information. I am doing family research for her daughter Joyce Moscoe. Thank you for any help.
