Hi everyone! I need help figuring out my family tree. I think my great-grandmother's name is Luk Won Ng and she passed on in 1980. I'm trying to find any connections to her, especially her father and uncle who were in the U.S. I think one of their first names is Wing, but I'm not sure. Please help!

My wife is a "Ng" although she and her father use the Mandarin version of "Woo". Their family is from Zhongshan (Chung-shan), Guangdong (Kuang-tung), China. Some of their ancestors moved to Hankou (Hankow), Hubei (Hupei), China. Do you know which part of China was your grandmother from?

My great-grandmother is also from Guangdong, China. She was from the Tai San (not sure if spelling is correct) village. Does your wife have family here? Nearly all of my relatives reside in the U.S., but I don't know many of them at all.

My wife has a sister in Salt Lake City, Utah. Well, I believe that there should be no connection between my wife and your family at this generation level. But who knows? Chinese saying: "May be the same family 500 years ago." Keep in touch.

Dear Davis,
My father speaks Cantonese, but his family speaks Tai San, which is from a village in Canton. Most of his family is from Tai San, although many of them left China many generations ago for America, South America, Canada, and perhaps other countries that I'm unsure of. Let me know if you think you may be a link. Thanks for replying!
Sincerely,
Sally
