My Grandfather was Thomas Horgan born in NYC on or about 1874 and his Father Thomas Horgan was born in Ireland about 20-25 years earlier in county Cork? My greatgrandfather was married to Mary Kelleher from Ireland also.
They emigrated through Boston and lived in New York City. Please E-Mail me if you have information on the Horgan family in Ireland.

My grandfather Thomas Horgan was born USA on or about 1874 however, his father Peter Horgan was born in Ireland date when or where unknown but my mother told us Cork.

Peter Horgan was married to Mary Kelleher. I hope this helps in establishing a linesge with the Horgans in your family since they emigrated through Boston.Iam not sure if my Great Grandfather or my Grandfather had any Brothers or sisters.

I may know this at a latter date as I continue to do some additional research in
New York City where my Grandfather was on the police force during the 20's before he died through complications at an early age.

My mothers maiden name was Horgan, said they had been from County Cork Ireland back in the early 1800's.
I only know that my grandfather was William Thomas Horgan and he was born in Lowell Mass. around 1912 ???
Don't know much more than that and it is a pretty small family and most are Red Heads ( myself included ! )
Have been looking for relatives from any where.
Anyone with any info to help me out ???
I really would appreciate it and it would
help fill a gap.
Thanks Much,
Linda T. Doherty

Hi Linda, if you saw my post you know mine settled in Haverhill which is only about 20 min. from Lowell. If you can get your William's birth cert it might help - I have the names of all the Horgan siblings that came from Cork in the 1890s. Keep in touch!

My oh my! I have not been here for a long time and it seems I have been missing something. My grandfather was one Cornelius Horgan,a carpenter, I think, who emigrated from County Cork late in the 19th century. His brother Daniel and his sister Mary also lived in the NYC-NJ area. Cornelius married a German girl, Ida Koch, and they had three children who lived to adulthood. My mother Emily (AMelia) was their daughter. Cornelius died young, of what I have no idea. Does any of this rambling sound like there might be a connection? I know very little about my Irish ancestors...but I would love to know more.

My great grandmother was Mary Beatrice Horgan, born in 1890 in County Cork to Daniel Horgan and Mary HOGAN. Is she one of these siblings. She later immigrated to Cambridge Mass around 1906.
