My grand father, José Esteves Torres, originally from Pontevedra, Galicia, in Spain, arrived on Puerto Rico late 1800's. He was serving in the military, stationed in Cuba. He was a master pyrotechnic, and, in the opinion of some, introduced the art of manufacturing fire works in the Caribbean Island of Puerto Rico. Should there be any "relatives" out there, I'd love to hear from you . . .

I realize your post is 6 years old but I'm hoping you will reply. I'm researching Jose Esteves Y Torres who came from Galacia, Spain in 1891 to Puerto Rico. He married Burgos (do not have first name) they had 7 children. She appears to have died by 1910 as he remarried Isabel Quinones (Ramirez). Pls contact me. I think you are in the same line.

Hola! I am so happy I found this site, and thread! My grandfather Mario, Don Mario, or Mariano Esteves, lived in PR. It was a big White House with a panting of Jesus Christ sacred heart in the middle of the home, all white fence. Beautiful painting of Christ floating on water inside. I lost touch with my Esteves side if the family, and have been trying to find my father Daniel Esteves, and grand father and grand mother. I hope you could help.
