Joseph Denegre (Denegri) b. Ajaccio, Corsica, c.1799.
He arrived in Baltimore, MD 1816, and was naturalized 25 Apr.1825 Court Of General Sessions of the Peace, Philadelpha, PA.
He began building Arch Street Presbyterian Church, 18th St., Philadelphia and in 1856, was elected to The Carpenters' Company. His picture is in Carpenters Hall, and he is buried in Woodlands Cemetery, Philadelphia.
Where and when exactly was he born, who were his parents? Did he arrive alone in Baltimore?

In addition to the Archives in Ajaccio, try the Archives Departmentales for these locales in Haute Corse (2B): Bastia, Canari and Venzolasca

Also, there are two Joseph Denegri's that were naturalized during the same era; maybe related, esp. the one from Sardegna. :)

1 BB/11/109 naturalisation ; DENEGRI Joseph ; Italie ; Italie ; 29 décembre 1815 Nat
2 BB/11/103/2 naturalisation ; DENIGRIS Joseph ; DENEGRI ; Apennins ; Sardaigne ; Italie 31 janvier 1815 Nat

There are more details from here:

also interesting:

many Denegri's ended up in Algeria, though some may be from Italy:
