Hi, Wendy,

There may well be a connection. Unfortunately, I know very little about my G-Grandfather, Wilhelm Bosch. His daughter, my Grandmother, Magdelene Helen was baptised under the spelling "BOSCH" without the "e". There were brothers and sisters and I can supply you with their names, if you like. My G-Grandfather died in 1880 and that is when my G-Grandmother came to this country. I haven't found any correspondence with the names you listed. However, if you have any other names, I will be glad to look through my records on my "Family Tree Maker" program.

It is a pretty good program and I have captured practically all the info that I have on it. Write when you can.

Wendy, I forgot to ask. Do you know much about the history of Alsace-Lorraine (AL)?
With a little research, I found or heard that AL was once part of Switzerland and later Germany. AL still exists on maps but one part that my ancestor comes from (Hargarten) is now part of Saarland, Germany.
Interesting, yes? No wonder we have a little trouble! Jim F

Would like to hear from you -- my email is

Dear Beth Bosch,

In the early 1900s Arcola had a bakery called "Schneider's."
