My Gr-Grandfather, Wilhelm Gröger, was from Thomasdorf, a very small village just outside of Freiwaldau. I have some information on him, his wife (Maria Kriegisch) and a detailed map of the region. I would love to know what information you have on the Gröger surname. - Thanks

Surnames: Gröger
My greatgrandparents came from Austria, my grandfather was Antonio Gröger. They settled in Curitiba, State of Paraná, in Brazil. I was born here and was always curious to find out about my relatives in other countries. I don't know of any other Grögers in Brazil. My father started to write it Groeger because he thought it was easier to spell for Brazilians.

I do not know if connected, but my great grandfather was Adam Kreuzer, born Feb. 14, 1848. He was from Tachau City, Bohemia. He was married to Marianna Forster, born March 3,1852. They came to Pennsylvania from Europe with 5 children- Adam, Frank(my grandfather), Elizabeth, Anna, and Margaret.

You have possibly two names associated with my family tree, which I am trying to research with little success. My great grandfather was Adam Kreuzer, born Feb. 14,1848 and my gr. grandmother was Marianna Kreuzer, (her maiden name was Forster), born March 3,1852. They came to the United States from Tachau, Bohemia in 1898 with my grandfather Frank Joseph (who was 22yrs. at that time.) They also had another son Adam, and daughters Elizabeth, Margaret, and Anna, all of whom were born in Bohemia. Do you have any connections ?

I have some Gröger from Thomasdorf in my research but no Wilhelm. However, there are some Wilhelm Gröger in Thomas Pompe's site at

http://www.people.freenet.de/sonja.htm/ghtindex.htm

I have Thomas's email address if you contact me direct at lhakel @ earthlink.net (remove spaces).

I visited Thomasdorf this summer. Have names of other researchers with good information.
