This is where I stand. My Elisha Sr was born in 1761 if his age in correct on his tombstone in Monaghan Cemetery in Cayuga, Town of Locke, Ny. it says he was 89 years old when he died. also says he wife name was Rebecca, no maiden name and dying July 6,1837 at age 68years. There is also a Elizabeth Oakley d,. August 25,1861 age 64,5m,9d. It doesn't say if they where related. I not sure if he remarried to this Elizabeth or not. I know in the census of 1800 had four Oakley families living next two each other. Elias was one, Nehemiah, Gibert, and Abraham. I would think these would be his brothers, father, uncle not sure. I don't know anything past Elisha Senior. This father and mother. I do know these families were most likely related. Also the census of Elsha Sr. doesn't have the names of his children and I had to figure out that I believe Elisha was Elisha Sr. father because I think they are the only two Elisha and then I had to go through a lot to figure out that Henry Oakley was the son of Elias Jr. It is documented that Elias Jr. was married to a Dorthy or Dorthea or Doratha. Taylor. she is named in the 1850 Niles, Cayuga, Ny census. she is named as with children Lousia 13 Ny, Alexander 9, Ny and Norman 6 yr, Ny. In 1860 census in Locke Cayuga, Ny didn't write up Dorathy. I would assume it just Dorothy. The adults age or never right. They have a Loretta, who is older then Elisha Oakley as a basket weaver and earning $550. Lottee is said to be 60's. Wrong name or simply take post when Dorthty is gone. children are Marvin 28 Laborer, NY, Simon or Simeon, 26 laborer. Lousia 23 domestic, Norman 17, Ny, Adaline, NY Someone had a daughter Elizabeth. It could have been my Elisha Sr. because he only has males and females in the census, no names. I will try to gook it up. I do have a nathenial, Gilbert,I will have to keep reasearcing. I hope anyone knows something. Henry Oakley Elisajr. son was in revountinary war for a small time. Ancestory.com had a free to look up civiland revolutionary veterans. He was too old and only servied a limited time. Lousia Oakley married Ebeneezer Williams and Elisha went back to being a farmer in 1870 and Ebeneezer and Louisa Oakley Williams lived with him. Henry Oakley was buried in Canisteo,Ny to be close to the veteran hospital. His wife was Sally no known maiden name. Elisha Jr. wife was Dorothy Taylor of Doratha etc. It says on Elisha Sr. tombstone that his wife was Rebecca. I don't know if any of them remarried?
