Joyce, Hi, 1850 is alot earlier than I expected for my Great?, Uncles to have gotten here. My Mom says they would have come around 1910ish? I mean to have started ther shop-which by the way they sold out, and soon became Finast Supermarkets. Peter was the brainstorm of them. My Grandmother was Annie, there was also another sister, Mary. I heard they all came over after the "Potato Famine". (Did I spell that like Dan Quail)?. Ann, Anne, Annie? There was Peter, Michael, Frank and a few others, maybe three? Let me know!!

Dear Tracy, If i remember my history right the famine was at its peak between 1846 and 1852. However your Davys are probably younger than ours . I have a picture of michael and his Civil War records he married Johhanna Hurley Daughter of Daniel Hurley and Johanna Stack. They lived in New york state. Michael children settled in St. Paul, Mn. and several moved to Spokane ,Wa. I am aquianted with my Davy cousins whose father was John Davy. The Thomas I have on that 1860 Mn. census had sons Michael, born about 1844 in Ireland Thomas born 1847, John,Born in 1849,James born in 1850. My michael was born IN sligo in 1833 served in the New York Infantry in the Civil war under the name James Byron. Looks like you will have to look farther. My next stop will be to our history center to look at the Naturalization records and find the ship they came on perhaps it was in 1847 at the peak of the famine.also want to look at Griffiths Tax evaulation recordS AND the LDS RECORDS WHICH ARE NOW ON LINE. Good luck. Joyce
