I'm trying to find out who my greatgrandparents were. My grandmother, Doris Mavity and her brother Clayton Mavity and other siblings were placed in the Iowa Soldiers Orphans Home sometime between 1910 and 1915. If anyone has info, please forward same.

The 1915 census shows Clayton MAVITY's age as 9, indicating that he was born circa 1906. Birthplace is listed as Iowa.

The 1920 census enumerates three MAVITY siblings in the Soldier's Home in Davenport: Clayton, 14; Doris, 15; and Regene, 11.

A "Mavity Family" published genealogy indicates parents and an additional sibling:
"Charles W. MAVITY married Iva DONALD about 1904. He died in Collander, Iowa, in 1908.
Children of Charles MAVITY and Iva DONALD: Doris, Donald, Regene, Clayton."

The 1910 census (Missouri > St Louis (Independent City) > St Louis Ward 24 > ED 459) shows the MAVITY children with their mother and stepfather:

GEORGE, John W., head, 37, 2nd marriage/less than 1 year, TN TN TN
Ivah M., wife, 28, 2nd marriage/less than 1 year, bore 4 children/4 living, IA SPAIN IL
MAVITY, Donald N., stepson, 8, IA KS IA
Doris G., stepdaughter, 7, IA KS IA
Clayton, stepson, 6, IA KS IA
Regene, stepdaughter, 2 IA KS IA

In the 1905 Iowa State Census I find Charles W., Iva M., Donald W. and Doras G. MAVITY in Valley Junction (Polk County).

Vivian George (born 1910)is a half-sibling to the Mavity children. She was the child of Iva May Donald and John Wesley George who also had Dolly George (b 1912)

I have some information on Iva's parents Ida (Gill) and Joe Donald and some on Charles W. Mavity. I would love to exchange information.
