Looking for relatives of my great-grandfather, Andrew DiBernardo. He was born in Italy and still has a sister alive there that is a nun. My grandma isnt sure where in Italy she is. He came to Netcong NJ (NJ's little Italy) as a teenager. He was 94 when he died in 1991. He married Rita Costanza who was also born in Italy, and came to Netcong as a child. Their children turned DiBernardo to DiBernard, but the parents kept DiBernardo. They had 9 children, Pauline, Donald, Carmine, Anthony, William, Louis, Margaret, Loretta, and Genevieve, 7 of which are surviving. Andrew had a brother and 2 sisters. Aniello, his brother came to Netcong as an adult and died last year at 91. Genevieve died in Italy as a child, and the nun is still in Italy. I dont know her name. Any info would be apreciated.

The first thing you want to do is get their Naturalization paperwork at the Achives in Philadelphia on Market Street. They will tell you where in Italy they are from. Also get Alien Registration paperwork and contact Railroad Retirement Board because more than likely they worked for the railroad companies. Contact me and I can go in more detail.

Hi Michele, I don't know if it's too late for you to receive this message, but it would be wonderful if our families could connect and share stories. I talked to Dana and she missed this message, how nice that another family member happened upon it. I'd love hear back from you!
