I am also a decendant of Matthew Rodham. My family decends from his daughter, Elizabeth, who married Richard Kenner in 1664. A family story is that he was shanghied in London and sold into indentured servitude in Maryland. His arrival at age 14 would be consistant with the story. Can you shed any light on the subject? Do you have any info. about a John Rodham in Virginia about the same time as Matthew? I'll be glad to share any info. on descendants.

I also descend from Matthew and Elizabeth (Kenner) Rodham. Have you been able to confirm this story of Matthew's immigration to VA? Would be interested in exchanging information and filling in gaps.

Rodham Kenner, my great. great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great grandfather married Elizabeth Plater in 1763. He was from "Kennerslie" in Northumberland County Virginia. After his death, I am pretty sure that Elizabeth married the Rev. Thos. Davis, Rector of Fairfax, Christ Church, Alexandria, Virginia. He is the man who preached the funeral of G. Washington. Does this help in any way? Are we connected?

Matthew Rodham who settled in Northumberland County, VA. is listed in a publication by Gust Skordas (yes tht's his name) The Early Settlers of Maryland lists him and his wife Elizabeth the daughter of Robert Hewitt and Hannah his wife who after his death married Hugh Lee, pastor in Northumberland County. You have to go from page to page in Skordas to get this Maryland stuff.
