Genealogical abstracts from Palmyra, Wayne County, New York newspapers, 1810-1854

Please Linda,

Are there any Buck, Gidley, Hibbard, Piper articles?

--- Hibbard ---
Ann, Benjamin, Noahdiah?, Simeon Orvil

--- John Piper of Palmyra ---
I am looking for written record describing John Piper of Palmyra, his family at the time of his death , not the John Piper in Ontario during the same time.

Fact: John Piper died at Palmyra on March 5, 1843.

From the book: 10,000 Vital Records of Western New York, by Fred Bowman...
Piper, ______, married Mrs. Hibban(sic) at Manchester, Ontario Co., on Nov 5 1839. Rev C. K. Shumway.
This would be his 2nd marriage.

I already seen census data and 1840 doesn't list his new family members from his 2nd marriage 1839. 1850 census shows a couple of widow Pipers but that doesn't prove anything.

It might solve the family member name problem if the 1843 obit for John Piper of Palmyra would list the names.

Thanks

Please look up Patrick Garry. I am interested in marriage information: circa 1847 to Loretta Plum. Also if there were any other children born to them in addition to Mary in 1848. Thank you!

Hi Linda,

I hope you are still willing to perform a look up in Wayne County.

I have a Jesse DUNN who d. Apr 20 1835 at Arcadia, Wayne, NY.
I believe he may have been married to Emaline Finch? b. abt 1804 in Columbia Co. He was probably born in Phelps, Ontario Co. They had several children after marriage in abt. 1822. Trying to figure out who the parents of Jesse and Emaline were and what happened to all their children. It would seem she probably would have remarried following Jesse's death. If she did, is there any record.

One son, George Washington Dunn b. 9/1830 married Asenath Platt or Pratt (not sure) abt 1849.

Thank you for offering to do lookups.

Hello: Sorry but no Jesse Dunn listed. Only Dunns are Daniel, Jacob A., James, Marind and "Dunn,McIntyre &".

Finch names are: D. G., Danile B., Daniel D., Daniel G., Elizabeth, Elsey Elizabeth, Eugene, G. G., and Finch's store.

Platt surnames reveal: A. E. and Rev.

Pratt: A. [this is an ad for a drug store], Pratt & Hill, Almond, Pratt & White, Cephlanett, Darius, David, Elkanah, Emeline, George Jr., Jerusha, Mary and Sydney.

You may want to check with the Wayne County Historian to see he has any information on the family. http://www.co.wayne.ny.us/departments/historian/historian.ht...

Sorry I could not be of more help. You may also want to check with the Ontario County Historical Society in Canandaigua, NY as they may have information on the Dunn family from Phelps, NY.

Happy hunting!!

Linda
