My Biggs line comes through Joseph Biggs who married Margaret Eastwood, one of their sons is Thomas Kedar Biggs (b 13 Aug 1749 and d. 7 Mar 1815) who had a son named JOHN b 11 Oct 1772 in Martin County NC and married Nancy Warren. This JOHN died about 1855. Many of the family moved from NC to Stewart County TN (also spent a year or so in GA) and then some of them moved on to eastern TN -

Hope this helps

Cheryl, I just received a copy of the will of John Biggs, who d, in Pasquotank Co., N.C.
This John was 75 yrears old and it is dated 8, April 1754. In it lists what was given to his children and not really a will with all their names but these are the ones that got something. John Biggs, Jo' Biggs, John ( Hufe ?) in rite of his wife, Jacob Gregory in rite of his wife, Margret Willoughbee, widow, ( Keriah ?) Biggs, & Sarah Biggs. I think this John Biggs my be mine as all other info I have seen, gives ages too old to father mine, yet I have not seen anyone mention these names in the family.
My server is messed up, can send but not receive. Bettie J.

My BIGGS line comes down through this same Joseph. My family comes through Thomas Kedar BIGGS younger brother, William! Always nice to meet cousins. I didn't even know who my BIGGS relatives were until these last few weeks. I called for a death certificate on a gg uncle to find out he and my gg grandmothers parents. There was only a father listed, but it was enough to open up a can of worms and a branch on my tree that has been less than fruitful over these last few years. If there is anything you would like to know about my line, please let me know and if you have any info you would like to share about yours... I'm all ears!

I claim descent from John d 1754 Pasquotank through his son Joseph ("Jos.", with raised s). The number 75 precedes the names of each subject person in the Pasquotank probate list, and is not an indication of John's age at death, although he may not have been far from 75.

The DNA of Biggses who trace their lines back to Joseph Biggs and John Biggs of the northeastern part of NC matches, and they are believed to be Joseph and John, sons of John d 1754. Surprisingly, their DNA does not match that of several descendants of James Biggs of Currituck Co NC, who has long been believed to have been a brother of Joseph of Martin County.

If direct male descendants of Rev. Davis Biggs of Pike Co MO would consent to be DNA-tested, I'm confident, as are other researchers, that they would match descendants of James of Currituck. If so, this would help convince researchers that the Robert, Davis and Imorish or Immoriah Biggs (however spelled) mentioned in the book "John Biggs, the Welshman..." are the Robert, Davis and Amariah Biggs mentioned as sons of James of Currituck in his will.
