Edward L. Poindexter married Judith Baber on 13 Jun 1826
in Rutherford County, NC. They are on the 1830 Census for
Macon County, NC.
This family seems to have disappeared after that. I think
that Edward L. Poindexter may have died between 1834 and
1838. I found a marriage record for Judah Poindexter in
Blount County, Tennessee on 17 Oct 1838 to John P. Brewer.
This Brewer family is listed on the 1850 Census in
Polk County, Tennessee with 5 Poindexters and
6 Brewer children.
Does anyone know if this Judah Poindexter is the same
Judith Baber??
Any information on this Poindexter line is appreciated.

Yes, Judith did marry John Brewer and are listed in Overton County census. There is legal proceedings for Judith against TWP Poindexter for a settlement of some kind here in Macon County. I am descended from Poindexter through Albert, son of Thomas and Sarah Nance Poindexter.

I am working on my husbands tree and saw the lovely photo of Virginia Pointdexter. I clicked on hints and it's looks like there are two separate thoughts on who her parents are , a Judah Barber or a Sarah sally Jones.

Any ideas? It's a bit confusing.

The photo was one I shared under my original tree and has been shared quite bit-I love seeing her around, and her daughter. To be remembered....!

Her (Virginia Poindexter) and her husband, John Marion Paris, have a daughter, Nancy Judah Paris. I don't think she'd have named her only daughter Judah if her mothers name was Sarah or Sally?
This is my direct maternal line. From Judah (not Judith) Barber (also in our family Bibles) to Virginia (my mothers original name sake)>To her daughter Nancy Judah Paris>to Julia Virginia (orginally Elizabeth but she changed it one day at a dinner table-started going by Virginia instead) Perison>to Lorene Brem>to my mother>to me.I can't get further than Judah Barber though. She's my brickwall.
I have the back of the photos as well. My great grandmother Julia V Perison-Brem wrote on the back of photos.
I am having a hard time finding where and how Edward L Poindexter passed.

Hi there,

I looked closer and I think another Pointdexter brother may have married a Sally and that is how some people have mixed it up.

Thanks to you and another helpful person I have it all correct now :)

Our line goes through Henry Moses "Bud" Paris. Virginia is my daughters 4th great grandmother.
If you have any family stories about any of these people I would love to hear them. My husbands family ended up in Texas. His grandmother was a Paris. (I am actually from Australia!)
