William Spicer entered Edgecombe County, NC in 1740. He was born in 1729. I'm trying to find where he was born. William married Nancy in NC in 1750. He may have come from Virginia. If you have any information on him, I'd appreciate it.

I am not sure this is the correct William
Spicer, but have you tried Culpepper Co, VA?
I found this in the Abstracts of Revolutionary War Pension Files.

Thanks very much for your note. In it you refer to an item you found in the Revolutionary War pension files. Can you tell me more about the item or where to find it?

I found a William Spicer listed in a book
called Abstracts of Revolutionary War Pension Files by Virgil D. White
ISBN# 0-945099-18-5 on page 3273. I came
across this and felt that he very likely was
my ancestor. Please email me privately to
discuss our "possible" kinship in more detail.

Most of my family history is about the Spicers in Edgecombe County, NC. William Sr. is the earliest one I can find. Then there is a Moses Spicer who married Delilah Calhoun. There's also a William Calvin Spicer, jr. Anything sound familiar?

Saw your posting on Spicers in Wilkes County. My Grandmother was Izetta Spicer Craven, age 100 when she died a few years ago). Her Spicer side of the family is well documented and has been published in a book by another member of the family. I will be happy to provide information if it will be helpful to you. Just let me know what you are looking for.

I am trying to determine if a man named William Spicer listed in the book, Abstract of Rev. War Pension Files is linked to my
branch of Spicer's. He is born in Culpeper
Co, VA but applies for his pension in Wilkes Co. in 1833. I was told that my branch came
through Wilkes Co., but I have no proof.

My ancestors are:
Solomon Spicer
(died in Middle,TN Weakley Co.) However,
I do not have any idea where he came from originally.
