Hi, just on for a second but there were Goffs in Howard, NY. They are descended from the Famous Goff of Whalley & Goff the Regicides. My husbands ancestor, Riggs sheltered them for a while in CT when they were in hiding.

I will look up more and send later.

I am looking for the origin of my great great great grandfather, RICHARD GOFF. I am interested in the RICHARD GOFF which appears in the 1790 Albany County, Balltown census. Is there anyone who would do a free lookup to see if this Richard appears in the 1800,1810,1820, and 1830 and 1840 Albany County census? I do know that my RICHARD GOFF appeared in the Carroll County Ohio census of 1830 and 1840 because he went to live with his son, JOSEPH, who owned land in Perry Township in Carroll County Ohio. According to the 1840 census, RICHARD GOFF, would have been born around 1760-1770 . Anyone out there who is doing a search on the GOFF surname? If so, please e-mail me at I am also looking for the surname, MCMANAMAY. Thank you, Janet Goff Jenkins
