I checked by records and find a couple of Emma's
One that had changed the spelling to Lehr - I have no exact
date of birth but would put her in 1830-1840 range. I have
that she was married to Michael Achenbach.
The second is Emma Loehr b. 1/1891 d. of Jacob Loehr and
Emma Faulkner. Doesn't seem that either of these fit with the Emma you are looking for. I also don't find any Morey in the family history written in very early 1900's.
Thanks for the confirmation on the Plainfield Cemetary.
Dave, On my family tree, Peter Morey, b early 1800's, m Emma Loehr. Perhaps she is related to Johan.
Plainfield Cemetary is in Plainfield Twp, Northampton Co.
I've never used this before, but you'll be glad to hear I am researching the same person. I am currently doing a revised reprint of the book "Johan Heinrich Loehr and His Descendants"! I have over 3000 people in the family going bach to his parents and siblings in Germany. They settled here in Northampton Co., PA in the mid 1700's. I have pretty much of the records from the Plainfield Church and Cemetery copied.
I'd love to hear from you before I finish the book.
I am searching the line of Frederick Peter Loehr b. April 17, 1803 in Wallhalben, Germany settling in Northhampton, PA. He married Judith Baer. familysearch.com takes him all the way back to Frederich Peter Loehr(1692-1774) who m. Maria Catherina(1696-1775). Do you have any more info on this line?
I understand from a couple of sources that Frederick had 16 children, apparently only 13 obtaining adulthood. I am descended from Levi Loehr (Mar 14, 1839-July 7, 1873)m. I am emailing with Bill Rose of North Carolina, who sent me the Henry line. Also Walter John Kiger, both researching the Loehrs.
Hi, I have Frederich & Judith Baer Loehr & their 13 children. Frederich came from a family of 7 children. His father was John Jacob Loehr, his father Peter Jacob Loehr and then Frederich Peter 1692.
I have the line continued with Fred & Judy's son Henry Frederic Loehr 1834. Do you know which of the 13 children you are descented from?
My mother is researching her great-great grandparents, Peter & Margaretha (or Mary) Loehr. She would also like to purchase or order your book "Johan Heinrich Loehr and His Descendants".
Here is the info she has:
Peter Loehr b. 22 March 1806, d. 13 Nov. 1878 in Washington County, Texas. Immigrated from Prussia to US (Texas via New Orleans) 23 Nov. 1848.
m. Margaretha (or Mary) b. abt. 1820, d. abt. 1867.
Mary Jane b. abt. 1843, d. 27 Jun. 1867.
Caroline or Philippine b. 3 April 1846.
Gertrude b. abt. Jun 1848, probably died before 1850.
Peter may have had a previous marriage and children, since his wife is 14 years his junior.
If you have any info you could share, it would be greatly appreciated. And please email info on advance purchases of the book your working on.
