Looking for any SCHNEIDER's coming directly from Bern Switzerland, specifically relations to Johann Schneider (immig. 1850 to Andrew County, MO) and brother Christian Schneider (immig. 1854 to Andrew County, MO)
and families. Also connections to SOMMER, SCHINDLER, and STUBER from Bern, Switzerland. These names could have also immigrated to Holmes County, OHIO and/or State of Oregon. I have extensive info on these lines and looking for more. Please contact if you think you have a connection!

According verbal history - my great or great-great grandfather came from Berne, Switzerland. However, according to the same source they settled in the Nebraska area.

My great-grandfather was named Joseph Schneider - most like born about 1874.

Sound familiar at all?

Thank you!
Schneider Neumann

My Grandfather, David Monroe was born (1898 or so)in Mexico to Albert Gabriel Schindler and his Spanish wife. He said that his people came from Bern. Took it to mean his father. Any information would be helpful. They later ended up in CA and NV for some time.

if you already heard from me, sorry, I'm new at this. My greatgrandfather was Christian Schneider, married to Rosa Deustch (sp) children, Martin, Rose, Mary, Louise, and Joseph i think who died in his 20'w. supposedly originally from Austria. Christian, Rosa and son are all buried in a Catholic church cemetary in Jordan, Oregon. Son Martin died at 94 in Mt Angel Oregon in 1981. His sister Rose was my grandmother. Mary died in Breckenridge Minn. about 1979 at age 96. She had 6 boys, one daughter Catherine, who married someone directly across the border in North Dakota. My mother's name is Dolores, daughter of Rose Schneider. Any connection?
