Hello all,

My Maternal Grandfathers family came from County Clare to australia in the mid 19th century moving to Victoria (probably for the gold rush) then moving onto Western Australia (kalgoorlie more gold digging! and to Perth) does this ring any bells? I know its a long shot but any help would be fantastic. Thanks Todd May Perth Western Australia

I don't know if this will help or hinder.

Edward Vaughan was not a property owner in the 1876 landowner list. if he was renting he would be listed.

You can access the Deeds Registry in Dublin but I think its just an in person visit, you could visit their website and find out.

Registry of Deeds-Ireland, just google and looks for 'rootsweb'

Edward Vaughan is NOT in the 1901 census

There is no name spelled Vaughan in the Tithe Applotments
1820-1839. Which I find unusual as by the time of Griffith Valuation 1846-1864 there are 455 Vaughan's.

Cork Valuation 1852 and there are 3 Timothy Vaughn's.

Timothy Vaughan, Parish of Clonfert, Townland Rossacon

Timothy Vaughan, Parish of Fermoy, Townland Fermoy

Timothy Vaughan, Parish of Kilmeen, Townland Toordenduff

1841 UK Census:

Timothy Vaughan, born Ireland, 25, Manchester

Timothy Vaughan, born Ireland, 35 St. James Parish, London

Timothy Vaughan
Catalonia May 16, 1890 Queenstown Cork to Boston, agricultural worker, Irish (no age) United Kingdom+Ireland+Cork
not just census + Cork look for gravestone inscriptions

1/2 of Cork County has birth, marriage and death records, this 1/2 is called the North East. Mallow. Would not include Cork City.
