We are seeking proof of the parents of 3 separate John Wallaces in Anderson County, Tennessee in the early 1800s. Mistakes seem to have been made about these families.
Thank you, Jim Luck Wallace & Liz Nash Wallace

This is what we believe:

The info I have on John Wallaces is slightly different.

John Wallace’s (bn 1810-1827) and supposed to be part of the family of John and Jane Wallace:

John Jr-- Had a son named John ( or John III) born 1827 and died about 1885 in Union County TN. John and his wife Abby Reynolds (some reports list her as Abby Burns Reynolds) found in Anderson county in 1850, Campbell County in 1860, Anderson in 1870 census. John's last appearance in 1880 in Union County TN in the home of his son Johnathan aged 26.John was listed as Blind in 1870 and rheumatic in 1880. Abby was in the next household with son in law James Rutherford and daughter Maranda.

The 1830 census entry for John Jr lists males with ages consistent with 2 under 5--John and Alfred, 2 5-9 Isaac and ___?, 1 10-14 Henry, 1 15-19 David, 2 20-29 William and Robert.

David--Had a son named John born Jan 23, 1811 and died Jan 1884 in .

Joseph--had a son named John B Wallace born June 27, 1822 in TN and died March 14, 1901 in Nodaway County, Missouri. John and wife Louisa ( ?) are found in Anderson County in 1850. By 1870 census they are in Missouri and are found there in the 1870-1900 Census. John lists his birth month and year as July 1821 and had been married 55 years. Louisa lists hers as April 1820 with 9 children 6 of which were still living.

Samuel--Had a son John W Wallace born August 22, 1818 and died Aug 1866 in Anderson County, TN. John and wife Mary A. (?) are found in Anderson county in 1850 ( pge 71b) and 1860 ( page 12a)census. In 1870 Mary A. Wallace is listed as Head of Household in Anderson County, TN.

James M--Had a son named John ( some reports list him as John Robert) born June 5, 1823 and died Nov 24, 1905 in Anderson County, TN. John is buried at Andersonville Cemetery, Anderson County, TN.

Brice--had no son named John.

Enoch—is also supposed to have a son named John born around 1827 in TN. Enoch was found in Iowa in the 1850 census and it looks like son John was in Morgan County, Indiana with wife Rachel, who was either born in Iowa (1850census) or Indiana ( 1860 census). By 1860 Enoch and relocated to Putnam County (page 236) where John and Rachel are now found ( page 240).

Robert and Maranda Wallace had a son named Johnathan born in 1831 and a son named Johnson born in 1842. Johnathan was listed as 19 in the 1850 census in Robert and Maranda’s household (page 45b) and Johnson is also listed as Jonathan aged 8.

Another John Wallace is listed in the 1850 census in Anderson County, TN. John and Marantha (Holland Burris) Wallace are found on page 70a with daughters Martha J, Lucinda, Malinda, William H, Synthia , Mandy, Alfred. This family group matches the listing in the 1840 census for page 7 in Anderson County, TN. Marantha born 1813 in Campbell County, TN to Elijah and Ann (Ball) Burris. John is no longer in the household in 1860 with Marantha listed as HOH. Their daughters Martha J(ane) and Mandy ( Amanda) married brothers Casper and Christopher Webber.

Not sure how the above John Wallace fits in to the other Wallace's in the area at the same time?

Brice Wallace's great granddaughter Sara Wallace married Otis Elmore Sigbee Webber. Otis is a cousin of the above mentioned Webber's. Otis and Sarah were my great grandparents.
