Hey Mike!
well, I see that we've hit the same brick wall (again!) How ya' doin'?
Unhappily, my brother (Mike) and I lost Mother a week ago today. She was 93, and the last original source of info on our part of the clan. She went peacefully in her sleep. But she had a rich and full life. She was Mae Ella (Littleton) Schofield. M. Clinton A. Feb, 1926, TX. As you may remember, Dad's father was Albert Francis, son of William Clinton.
all best

William C. Schofield married Rebecca Hagey also spelled Hage, later years Hagee. Rebecca was the daughter of Adam Hagey and Catherine ?. William was born St. Marie, Jasper Co, IL.and died in Iola, Allen, KS. Rebecca Hagey was born 1841 in Greensboro, NC. I notice that you say that William was born 8 Feb 1847, I have 1842. They were married in Greenup, Cumberland Co., IL. on 26 Sep 1865. They lived in Bell Co., TX. after 1906. Lived in IL. until 1884, having enrolled in 1864 in Civil War, Co. F, 59th Regiment. Hello. I am also looking for information on J. A. Schofield. His son John David was my great-great grandfather. One of his sons (Samuel) married a woman named Pearl Fagaly, and one of their sons, Howard William, was the father of my mother. One thing handed down in the family is that Schofield was orginially spelled 'Scofield' and was changed during the Civil War because two other brothers named Schofield kept getting mail mixed up with William and John David's so they changed the spelling of their last name. Could be part of the problem with finding anything out.

Hi Al

I just saw your old message. My Grandfather was Charles Elmer, possibly your Grandfather Alber Francis's brother.
Sorry to hear about your mother. My mother Viola Elvira Schofield passed in 1997. I have many letters sent by her to Texas, looking for your Grandfather. All were returned with no results. She wrote that she thought he was a dentist in Brownville? Is that correct? I am looking for information on J A Schofield born 1820 in Coles Co, Illinois. If you have any info I'd really appreciate any help. Also, if you are interested in other branches of the family, I'd be glad to pass it along. Bev
