Hello,
I am doing a search on Persis A. Lothrop. I know she was born in Massachusetts. In the 1900 Census she was reported to be 11 years old and living with Hannah B. Carney, Alonzo F. Lothrop and Gladys age 4. She married Claude F. Babcock of Hornel, NY in 1927. His obituary sttes they married in Boston MA. I've been trying to find her birth, marriage and death records. and am wondering if she emarried after Claude died in 1955. His obit says he is survived by his widow.
Thanks so much for your help.

Hi:
I had to think for a second about who the Lothrop Family was. I was helping to clean out a priest's apartment(Father Donald Garfield) in Baltimore, MD and came across a lot of genealogy of the Garfield, Lothrop, Barnap, etc families. Father Garfield had been working on his family tree before he passed away. I donated everything that I found to the DAR Library in Washington, DC. It is all together in a Garfeild Family Collection. If you call there I'm sure that they can help you. Good Luck, Mary

Persis Aldrich Lothrop was born 14 Mar 1889 in Somerville, Middlesex Co., MA, to Ellsworth Freeman Lothrop (b. 1861, Barnstable, MA) and Almira C. Aldrich (b. 1869). On the 1900 census, Persis was niece to Ben & Hannah (? Lothrop) Carey and granddaughter to Alonzo F. and Cynthia (Lewis) Lothrop. I presume Gertrude (not Gladys), b. 1895, was Persis' sister. In the 1884 Huntington genealogy of Rev. John Lothropp, Ellsworth Freeman Lothrop was # 2452; Alonzo F. Lothrop was # 1559; Alonzo's father was # 780 John Lothrop.
