My grandmother had a half-brother or step brother that she called Al (Thielke). Her mother was Emma Thode, she married several times. My grandmother was born in 1889 in IA, but moved to CA and eventually died there. Her name was Alma Albrecht. She married Fred Earl Mayne. If any of this matches any information you have, please contact me.

Uncle Al was a brother of my grandfather, Henry Thielke, also immigrated from Germany. He reputedly had a family in the WI-MN area (lots of Thielkes there now) and another family in San Jose CA, where he had a school of music and dance.

I think we might have a match. I have the following as siblings of one sort or another of Henry Thielke:
Alvina
Adella
Joanne
Alfred
Edward
George
Christy Gosch
Alma Anna Albrecht (1888-1975)

I also have the following dates for the first Henry Thode
1831-1918
daughter Emma Thode (1856-1894)

Does this match anything you have?

This is pretty much all new info for me. I'm sure we have the same family here. In conversations years ago, Edward, George and Alfred were mentioned sometimes. And there were references to an "Aunt Dell" who, it was alleged, "lost her mind." Thanks for filling in a little.
