I am looking for any information on Anton Brasch. His siblings were Johann Prasch b: 26 Dec 1845, Franz Prasch b: 1 Aug 1843, Maria Prasch b: 12 Dec 1840, Theresia Prasch b: 5 May 1838, and Joseph Prasch b: 10 Sept 1836, Johanna Prasch b:23 Mar 1852, Ferdinand Prasch b: 2 Sept 1854. and Juliane Prasch b: 30 Jan 1856.

His parents were Josef Prasch b: 8 Apr 1816 in Lemberg, Styria, Austria and Theresia Jagerhofer of Hopfau, Austria.

As near as I can tell, Anton's name was changed sometime after he came to America since he is the only sibling with the spelling different. He married Katharina (sp?) Bodmer of Baden-Wuerttemberg, Germany. They seem to have married after they came to the United States sometime between 1873 and 1874. At some point, Anton's children also had name changes. Some go by Brasch and some have the Bash surname.

I am very curious about why Anton came to America and if any of his other siblings did as well.

As for the Prasch name, a family sheet I was given goes back to 1628 in Geiseldorf, Styria, Austria. Many of these names and dates are not verified.
Do any of these names sound familiar? Thanks for any assistance.

I have a grandfather Josef Prach b. 1856 (married Agnes Hahn) and a father Josef Prach born 1879 in Brunn, Styria, Austria, which is 40 miles from the towns mentioned. He came to the U.S. in 1902 and latter changing his name to Joseph Prax and died in 1939.
It seems a big coincidence with only one letter difference in the last names. I can provide a photo of my father taken in 1914 to see if there are family resemblences.
