The Jayjohn Surname in my line starts with the marriage Benjamin Franklin "Frank" Jayjohn 1879-1955 to Clara Adella Walton. Ohio

I have several of the death and birth certificates of the Jayjohns. I would be happy to get you any info that you may need should our lines cross.

Try looking in Jackson Co., Ohio or Scioto Co., Oh. I am related to the Jayjohn family through the Waltons of those communities.

Have you come across any more JayJohn out of Vinton and Jackson Counties (Wellston). I saw that there was an Erastus Jayjohn b. VA died Vinton County. Trying to track his tree.

Thanks to anyone who can provide more information on this name. I have also seen it as two names for the last name; i.e., Jay John

I dont know if you ever found what you were looking for, but Eratus Jayjohn (b.18 Sep 1847) D. 6 Jan 1939 was my g.g. uncle. he and my g.g. grandfather, daniel Jayjohn were brothers. Their parents were John J. Jayjohn b.abt.1820 in Va. and Rachel Evans Jayjohn (maiden name unknown) I may be a few years too late but, I just started this process. Dennis Jayjohn

Dennis, Thank you for your response. I haven't been able to track back on John and Rachael JayJohn. I have what you have and I know they had settled in the Vinton/Jackson counties area' but have not any information prior to settling in Ohio. My friend's mother was born a JayJohn from Jayjohn/Walton descendants. Thanks again for your answer. Possibly we can chip away at the brick wall. ;-) (stay in touch)
