Juanita resides in Lancaster SC and Aaron resides in Charlotte NC. Lucille, Margret,Hazel and Corijee all reside in NY the other for children have passed on several years ago.
I am trying to find out when and where My Grandparents met and when and how we became McGriff and Clyburn I've been researching this for some time. Any and all information will be greatly appreciated. Thank you in Advanced for any information you can provide.

Hi Vicky

My name is Iris Leak (Clyburn by birth) I just happened to be on line and found your posting. July of this year I took a ride down to Kershaw/Lancaster SC to see where it all started. My father was Wardell Clyburn, Grandfather William Clyburn , Great-grandfather Bill U. Have you heard of them? I think it is fasinating to just meet people all from the same place. Write back if you like. Iris

My grandfathers brother was Wardell Clyburn.
Could it be the same one? I'm just starting the process of tracing my roots. All I know is my dad's father was Edward Clyburn of NJ and his brother was Wardell Clyburn.

Hey Lisa

I am glad you responded, My father was born in Kershaw, His name was Wardell Clyburn. My grandfather was William son of Jacob Clyburn. From what I have learned Bill U. Clyburn (who was white) had children with one of his slaves. So I gather Bill U. was my great-great grandfather, he was very powerful in Kershaw and owned a lot of property. If you send me your e-mail address I'll send you a copy of my family tree that I've compiled. My e-mail address is
