I’m not related to any member of this family.

1940 is the last available census at this time.

1910 - Marek Oblaj is not listed on this census or any other census. HAVE you changed the spelling of his name.

He only appears on the WWI files.

1910 - Tekla is not listed on this Mich census.

Is Tekla [AKA = Matilda] Hoke in 1920???????????

If you search at www.familysearch.org for Marek Obloj, there is one in Ohio. His birthdate on his WWII registration is not the same as that of WWI, but the other things seem to match, such as birthplace of Galacia, and immigration year of 1905

Calm down...capitalizing WORDS in a message is for emphasis not shouting. Some posters use ALL caps without intending to shout because they don't type well or can't see clearly.

On another note, the spelling of names until fairly recently was not "fixed" so referring to a "correct" spelling of a surname isn't always possible...especially when we are dealing with a surname of non-English origin that may sound differently to Americans than it does to those from the country of origin.

Thanks for keeping this discussion "civil" and remaining calm and helpful.

This could be a typo or a totally different person, but I found this man in Detroit:

Oboj, Marek, welder r5411 Tarnow av
Source: Detroit City Directory, 1922 (Here at Ancestry.com, exact publication data not given)

Oboj, Mark, autowkr r4390 Freer
Source: Detroit City Directory, 1923 (Here at Ancestry.com, exact publication data not given)

This last address is linked to an Oblaj:
Oblaj, Stanley, autowkr h4390 Freer (difficult to read)
Source: Detroit City Directory, 1925 (Here at Ancestry.com, exact publication data not given)

Do you know if he had a relative Stanley Oblaj?

Update: Stanley Oblaj WAS living at 4390 Freer in 1921, so that address is correct
