Andreas Brohm and family moved to Outagamie Co WI about 1865 from Albany, NY. I have found a property record in the city of Appleton and a marriage record of his eldest daughter, Anna Maria, to a John Schmitt in 1869. A baptismal record of the oldest Schmitt child shows that Andreas Brohm was present(ca 1871). He appears on the 1870 US Census for the city of Appleton. In an 1874 city directory it lists his wife as a widow. Family tradition says that Andreas was killed in a hunting accident "in the woods". I have not been able to locate a death record, newspaper article, or burial site. Can you help?

While I do not not know this line exactly, I would be very interested to hear about this Schmitt line. I have a John Schmitt who married an Anna. It would have been closer to 1858, but I am interested to hear about this family nonetheless. Feel free to post or to e-mail.

My great great grandfather and grandmother were John Schmitt and Anna Brohm. My great grand father was Albert Herman Gustav Schmitt. I would love to get more information on their family if you are aware of it. I am just starting to look into my family. I have them traced back to Appleton but have not researched anything there yet.
