Hello. My name is Fr. John and my dear friend is George Nuevirth. We are trying to gather information on the Neuvirth family name, also. George's father, Alfred Neuvirth (b. 1880 - d. 1952) lived in Beregszasz. Can you help us gain more info to develop his genealogy?

Thanks!

Is there a good reason why both of you are posting at the board for Carinthia?

Neuvirth is a Hungarian spelling of the frequent German name Neuwirth. Beregszász was in old Hungary, and today is called Beregovo and located in Ukraine.

Carinthia is very far away from Beregovo!

Sprry, it is called Berehovo, not Beregovo.

Hi John,

i was born in that city and our family graves located not too far from Neuwirh's ones.
Actually they had a small mausoleum in Roman Catholic cemetery.. The building is used as a storage far ago.
I will ask my mom to send me some photos when she visits the cemetery on this All Saints Day.

Joe

I'm also looking for information on the Neuvirth name. My name is Karen Neuvirth (maiden) My father is Carl James Neuvirth b. 1945, his father is Emil Neuvirth b. 1915. We believe Emil's father is Albert S Neuvirth b. 1865?, and his father is Vaclav James Neuvirth b. 1845?.

Any help would be appreciated as my DNA results aren't giving any clues either.
