William Jenkins / Rose Six

My great grandfather was William Jenkins. He was married to Rose Six. He was apparently raised by James Jenkins (possibly an Uncle), but I've been told that he was adopted. I can't seem to find any leads on who his real parents might be. If anyone has any information on him, or information on where I should be looking please let me know. Thanks!!

I’m not related to any member of this family.

1940 is the last available census at this time.

A DOB + birthplace is needed to do a search.

Here is his marriage record

In the 1900 census, if I have the right James in Kalkaska County (wife Lillie) he is listed as a nephew.

I would suggest you try and find James with his birth family and see what happened to his siblings.

This may be the marriage for James, which lists his parents names.

I also found an earlier marriage to an Eliza Carlisle.
I believe James place of birth in that record should be Whitby, Canada.

However, I see Lily referred to as Carlisle in some of their kids marriage records, makes it confusing!

Here is the family in 1880. Josiah, the son of Josiah, had the same parents listed on his marriage record as did James

Search this forum for "Jenkins" there is an old post from 2003 where the person says they have an obit for Martha, Mother of James W. Jenkins. There may be helpful information there.

Here is the link to the post with Martha's obit
